KFC GH¢15 Anniversary Deal Triggers Long Queues, Overcrowding Nationwide

A massive rush for Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) GH¢15 anniversary deal has resulted in long queues and overcrowding at several of the fast-food chain’s branches across the country.

Customers turned up in large numbers on Saturday, August 15, to take advantage of the special offer as KFC marks its 15th anniversary in Ghana.

The promotion offers customers a meal consisting of one piece of chicken, tenders and small chips for just GH¢15, attracting hundreds of people eager to take advantage of the deal.

Some customers reportedly arrived at KFC branches as early as 7:00 a.m. in an attempt to beat the rush and secure the anniversary offer.

Videos circulating on social media showed customers waiting in long queues, with crowds extending across parts of some KFC premises.

In some of the viral videos, security personnel at certain branches were seen using canes to control or disperse customers amid overcrowding and heightened tensions as more people arrived.

At the KFC branch in Ashaiman, the glass door of the restaurant was reportedly damaged during the chaos.

The promotion forms part of KFC Ghana’s activities to mark 15 years of operations in the country, with the company offering special deals to customers as part of its anniversary celebrations.
