The Sector minister in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development has replied to politicians who have made promises to ban closed Season should they gain power after the 2024 election.

Mavis Hawa Koomson while speaking to the media at a stakeholder’s engagement to access the report on the 2022 closed season and the launch of t new 2023 closed season iterated that the issue of the closed season should be taken off the political table.

She urged fisherfolk to avoid being used by politicians by imploring their conscience in their bid to wrestle power from the incumbent.
