Armed robbery attack on the Kasoa-Winneba Highway has left four passengers on a commercial vehicle hospitalized.
According to reports, the robbers opened fire on a Toyota Hiace minibus at 1:00am after blocking the road, robbing passengers at gunpoint.
Four passengers sustained gunshot wounds during the incident. Between May and June this year, the Police say there has been a continuous pattern of robberies in the Gomoa East District. They also cliam that due to increased police checkpoints, robbers may have relocated to Buduatta junction to continue operations.
At around 2:30am, two suspects were spotted near the Onion market, one was arrested as the other escaped. 3 phones belonging to passengers were found on him. The drivers as well as some passengers identified him as one of the armed robbers.
