Ghanaian Karatekas Ready to Shine at 2025 UFAK Africa Karate Championship in Nigeria

Ghana’s finest karatekas have touched down in Abuja, Nigeria, gearing up for the highly anticipated 2025 UFAK Africa Karate Championship.

The team comprises of talented athletes, Felix Annan, Edmund Amoako Asante, and Christopher Ekow Aidoo Botchway with Isaac Amponsah, vice president of GKF as the leader of delegation.
They would compete in Kata and Kumite.

The 2025 UFAK Africa Karate Championship promises to be an electrifying event, bringing together over 30 countries to compete in various karate techniques and disciplines.

Scheduled to take place from July 25th to 27th, 2025, at the Moshood Abiola sports stadium, the championship will witness some of the most thrilling matches in African karate. The Velodrome inside the stadium will serve as the ultimate showdown for these athletes, each vying for the top spot.

As a platform to promote and highlight the significance of karate, the UFAK championship has become a premier event in the African martial arts calendar. Ghana’s participation in the championship is a testament to the country’s growing prowess in karate under the leadership of Nathaniel Johnson, and the team is eager to make a lasting impression.

“With their skills and determination, the Ghanaian karatekas are expected to put up a strong fight against their opponents. The championship will provide a unique opportunity for athletes to showcase their techniques, strategies, and physical prowess”, the Ghana Karate-Do Federation said in a statement.
