Tourism Ministry Denies Allegations Against Minister Dzifa Gomashie, Slams Social Media “Falsehoods”

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts has strongly refuted circulating allegations questioning the professionalism and conduct of the sector Minister, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

In an official statement signed by Delassie Mabel Awuku, Head of Public Relations, the Ministry described the claims—reportedly originating from a social media personality—as “false narratives” intended to mislead the public.

“These assertions, portraying the Minister as disrespectful and unprofessional, are not only wholly unfounded but also gravely misleading,” the statement read.

The Ministry defended Minister Gomashie’s track record, highlighting her humility, dedication, and tireless service in promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage and advancing the creative sector.

Mischaracterisation and Reputation Damage

The Ministry warned that the allegations represent a “blatant mischaracterisation” of the Minister, and called them a “regrettable attempt to tarnish” her reputation.

“Such claims not only attack an individual but also undermine the Ministry’s broader efforts and the work of countless professionals who serve in the creative sector with pride,” it stated.

Call for Accountability

The Ministry urged the public to reject sensationalism and hold content creators accountable for spreading misinformation. It also demanded an unqualified apology from those responsible for what it described as “blatant lies peddled” against Minister Gomashie and key directors of the Ministry.

“We remain committed to transparency and welcome constructive dialogue—but we will not tolerate falsehoods that seek to divide and distract,” the Ministry concluded.

The statement comes amid growing concern over misinformation on social media and its impact on public figures and national institutions.
