The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced that the stakeholder committee reviewing DStv pricing in Ghana will submit its final report on Monday, September 29, 2025.
The committee, which commenced its work on September 8, 2025, was established to develop a shared understanding of DStv’s pricing model in Ghana and propose commercially viable and acceptable solutions to address concerns raised by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Sam George.
In addition to reviewing pricing concerns, the committee was also tasked with designing a roadmap to curb cross-border piracy involving DStv decoders and services being imported illegally from Nigeria into Ghana.
According to a statement issued by the NCA on September 23, the committee had made significant progress in its deliberations but requested a one-week extension to finalize its work—a request that was approved by the sector minister.

The final report is expected to provide actionable recommendations on DStv pricing and anti-piracy strategies, potentially shaping the regulatory and commercial landscape of pay-TV services in Ghana.
Established by law in 1996 and currently operating under the National Communications Authority Act, 2008 (Act 769), the NCA is the statutory body responsible for licensing and regulating electronic communication services in Ghana.
