The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, following the emergence of a viral video showing him in a compromising situation with a female student.
In a statement released on Monday, September 29, the GES confirmed that it had taken swift action after the video began circulating widely on social media.
Immediate Action Taken
“Mr. Aidoo has already been removed from office and prohibited from accessing the school premises while thorough investigations are being carried out,” the statement said.
The statement, signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the GES, emphasized that the Service views the matter with the “utmost seriousness” and is taking all necessary steps in accordance with its child protection policies and internal disciplinary code.

Due Process to Be Followed
GES reassured parents, stakeholders, and the general public that due process will be followed in handling the case. The Service has promised to apply appropriate disciplinary measures in line with the GES Code of Conduct.
“The appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service,” the statement noted.
Commitment to Student Welfare
The GES reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward any behavior that undermines student safety, dignity, and well-being.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement added.
Background
The disturbing video, which began circulating over the weekend, sparked widespread outrage on social media, prompting swift intervention by both school authorities and the GES. While details of the incident have not been officially disclosed, the footage has led to calls for greater accountability and oversight within Ghana’s educational institutions.
Ongoing Investigation
As investigations continue, the GES has called on the public to remain calm and allow the disciplinary process to run its full course. Further updates are expected in the coming days.
