Parliamentary Resumption Postponed Indefinitely – Speaker Bagbin

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has announced the indefinite postponement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

Originally scheduled to resume on October 14, 2025, the sitting has been deferred “due to circumstances beyond [his] control,” according to an official statement issued from the Office of the Speaker.

No further details were provided regarding the reasons for the postponement. A new date for resumption will be communicated in due course.

The unexpected delay halts parliamentary proceedings at a time when the House was set to deliberate on significant national matters, including the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
