Dr. Bawumia Begins Nationwide Campaign Tour Ahead of NPP Flagbearer Race

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will commence a nationwide campaign tour on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, as part of his bid to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

A statement released by the Bawumia Campaign Team on Tuesday outlined that the tour will span all 276 constituencies to deepen grassroots engagement and fortify the party’s structures ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries.

“Dr. Bawumia looks forward to sharing his vision and collectively working towards a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections,” the statement said.

The campaign team also called for an issue-based and respectful campaign environment, raising concerns about what it described as an increasing trend of personal attacks within party communications.

“Such conduct is not in the spirit of the NPP and runs counter to the values of unity, respect, and decency that we hold dear,” the statement noted.

In a firm directive, all campaign communicators, supporters, and volunteers were instructed to refrain from making personal attacks or derogatory remarks directed at other aspirants, their families, or their supporters.

The team emphasized that campaign discussions should be grounded in facts, policy comparisons, and the track records of the aspirants.

“As we seek to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections, we must remember that our goal is party unity and national progress. Communications that sow division and create lasting animosity only serve to weaken our collective front,” the campaign warned.

The statement concluded by expressing optimism that Dr. Bawumia’s track record, vision, and policy proposals will resonate with delegates, provided the campaign remains focused on issues of substance.

The release was signed by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director of the Bawumia Campaign
