The Ghana Armed Forces have arrested a man alleged to be a soldier identified as Williams Mensah, who was captured in a viral video brutally assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer inside a drugstore located in Burma camp.
The incident which has sparked widespread outrage began when the individual dressed in a plain clothes, storming into the pharmacy, demanding a refund of approximately GH¢65 for medication he had previously sent a boy to purchase.
The pharmacy attendant informed him that the drug store’s policy prohibits the return of sold drugs, a standard practice that reportedly triggered the man’s explosive reaction. The confrontation quickly escalated as he turned on a female customer, shoving and repeatedly slapping her across the face.
He then reached over the counter to beat and slap the male attendant several times, ignoring pleas from eyewitnesses to stop. The video further showed him following the female customer as she fled the shop, where he continued his assault on her outside before returning to the shop.

Upon re-entering, Mensah grabbed a metallic foldable ladder and threatened the attendant with it while furiously demanding his money. He also pushed away individuals who attempted to intervene.
Following the widespread circulation of the video, the Military Police swiftly moved in to apprehend him. The Ghana Armed Forces and the presidency have acknowledged the incident and have launched a probe to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
