MultiChoice Ghana has issued a public clarification to address confusion surrounding its newly introduced DStv value offerings, which officially took effect on October 1, 2025.
In a statement released in Accra, the satellite television provider reaffirmed its full support for the joint media announcement made by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, the National Communications Authority (NCA), MultiChoice Africa, and MultiChoice Ghana.
“Implementation of the agreement is already underway,” the company assured, in response to growing public concern over perceived contradictions in its rollout plan.
The clarification follows weeks of public debate and scrutiny over DStv’s pricing models and bouquet structures under the new arrangement. MultiChoice Ghana acknowledged that a previously published FAQ on its website had unintentionally contributed to the confusion.
“We apologise for any inconvenience the FAQs may have caused,” the company stated, adding that the content had been reviewed to reflect the correct information.
The company emphasized that all customers—whether existing, returning, or new—can freely choose from any bouquet under the updated offering, dispelling earlier misconceptions about limitations or exclusions.
MultiChoice also revealed that the Parliamentary Committee on Communications is expected to reconvene in three months to assess the impact of the initiative. The review will serve as a routine performance check to ensure the new value packages align with consumer expectations and regulatory standards.
This latest statement is seen as a strategic move to ease tensions following a series of sharp exchanges between industry regulators and operators over issues of affordability, transparency, and service delivery.
