Reconstruction of the Adenta – Dodowa road

By Laurinda Nyarko

Ghanaians who use the Dodowa-Adenta stretch have complained over the period about the bad nature of the road causing heavy traffic.

Recently, a demolition exercise commenced to pave the way for a major road construction. While some residents of the Adenta-Dodowa road commended the government, others who seemed to be affected couldn’t hide their plight and expressed their disappointment in the government.

Early this year the government gave occupants a prior notice to demolish some affected buildings and structures on the Adenta – dodowa stretch to pave the way for construction of a new road. After the extended period, some occupants remained on those territories. Users have cited that the government is simply being negligent to their well-being.

“The government knew this was a road, yet they allocated the space to us” A faction of users also shared different views on the demolition which has affected many. Meanwhile, the majority of users of the Adenta-Dodowa road have urged the government as a matter of urgency to undertake the road construction as soon as possible.
