The Most Reverend and Right Honorable Stephen Cottrell, Archbishop of York, is undertaking a significant five-day working visit to the Internal Province of Ghana (IPG). This visit marks his first trip to Ghana in his capacity as Archbishop.

The purpose of this visit is focusing on strengthening relationships within the Anglican Communion.
During his stay, Archbishop Cottrell is expected to participate in several key activities.
The Anglican Communion in Ghana plays a vital role in the spiritual and social fabric of the country, and this visit aims to reinforce the bonds between the Church in England and its counterparts in Ghana.

Archbishop Stephen Cottrell’s visit to Ghana represents an important step in enhancing relationships between the Church of England and the Anglican Church in Ghana while addressing critical social issues through collaborative efforts.

Together with him were his wife Mrs Rebecca Cottrell, Ms Georgia Boon, Director of Planning and Engagement, Right Reverend David Urquhart, Bishop to the Archbishops and Canterbury and York (in purple), and Venerable Mark Steadman, Chief of Staff to The Archbishop of York (black) they were welcomed by Archbishop of the Internal Province of Ghana and The Primate of the Church Province of West Africa, Most Rev’d Dr. Cyril Ben-Smith, Provincial Secretary, Venerable Anthony Eiwuley and the Primate’s officer in charge of communication and international relations, Mr. Reginald Frimpong Ansah-Adjaye.
