Ghana to Compete in Seven Disciplines at 2026 Commonwealth Games

Ghana has announced its participation in seven disciplines at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026.

The disciplines include:

Athletics (including Para)
3×3 Basketball (including Para)

Boxing

Cycling – track (including Para)

Judo

Swimming (including Para)

Weightlifting (including Para)

The 3rd Vice President of Ghana Olympic Committee and President of the Ghana Baseball & Softball Federation, Mr. Ernest Danso, has been appointed as the Chef De Mission for Team Ghana. Mr. Danso previously held the same position during the 13th African Games hosted in Accra, demonstrating his experience and leadership skills.

Ghana’s participation in the 2026 Commonwealth Games comes after a successful outing in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where the country won a total of five medals.

Boxing contributed two silver and one bronze medal, while Athletics added two bronze medals to the tally. With a strong team and experienced leadership, Ghana is poised to make a significant impact in Glasgow.
