Black Rockets Set to Represent Ghana at Maiden African Schools Boxing Championship in Algeria.

Four promising young boxers will represent Ghana at the maiden edition of the African Schools Boxing Championship, organized under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The team will depart to Algeria on Thursday to participate in the Boxing Championship.

The four young prospects are Richardson Ofori (Light Flyweight, 48kg), William Laryea (Flyweight, 50kg), Abdul Rahman Ablorh (Lightweight, 60kg), and Henry Owusu (Welterweight, 66kg) will be hoisting the Ghanaian flag high in Rabat which involves top young talented boxers from other countries on the continent.

The Boxing championship, which is being held for the first time, aims to give promising boxers the platform to showcase their talents and skills and to promote the sports at the Juvenile level. The tournament will also help them to gain international exposure, which is critical in the growth to become world beaters.

These young and talented boxers have undergone series of training under qualified and experience trainers in their respective gyms and currently in a training camp at Achimota.

These young prospects will be guided by Coaches Charles Quartey and Joseph Martey in Algiers, Algeria during the maiden edition of the Boxing Championship. The Ghanaian team is expected to make a significant impact under this duo.

As Team Ghana departs, the Ghana Boxing Federation, coaches and boxing lovers stand united in wishing these boxers the best of luck in Algiers.

Their participation marks a new chapter in Ghana’s rich boxing history creating a path for them to become World champions in the future.
