The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) staged a protest in Accra on Tuesday, September 23, to raise their voices against what they described as harassment, intimidation, and abuse of power by state actors.
The demonstration, dubbed “Yɛn Suro Ahunahuna”—translated as “We Are Not Afraid of Intimidation”—began at the Obra Spot near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle at 6 a.m.
Organisers said the march was intended to stand against oppression and to make a strong appeal in defense of democracy, freedom, and justice. They called on citizens, particularly young people, to join the movement and make their voices heard.
“This protest is about resisting fear and demanding accountability. We cannot allow intimidation to silence us,” a statement from the youth wing read.
According to the organisers, the demonstration was open to all patriots, youth, and citizens who believed in liberty and fairness.
