Farum, Denmark – Ghanaian forward Princess Marfo has rejoined Danish top-tier club FC Nordsjælland, marking a homecoming after a challenging stint with Bay FC in the United States.
The 21-year-old Black Queens attacker returns to familiar territory, having made history in the 2021/22 season as the first female graduate of the Right to Dream Academy to feature for FC Nordsjælland’s senior women’s team.
During her initial spell in Denmark, Princess made 22 appearances and scored two goals in the 2022/23 season, quickly becoming a fan favorite thanks to her pace, technical skill, and work ethic.
She later made a high-profile move to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with Bay FC, signing a contract through 2025. However, her time in the U.S. didn’t unfold as expected, with limited playing time and form struggles hampering her progress.
A Return to Roots
Speaking after sealing her return, Princess Marfo reflected on the emotional pull of returning to her footballing roots:
“I have missed the family I feel I have here in Farum. I was at the Right to Dream Academy for 12 years, and it has naturally filled a lot of my life. That is why it is also something I associate with family and unity, and that is what I need now. So when I got the call from FCN, I took it and accepted immediately.”
Boost for FCN Attack
Her return is expected to bolster FCN’s attacking options as the Danish club eyes a strong run in the 2025/26 season. With her familiarity with the club’s culture and tactical setup, Princess is poised to make an immediate impact.
