The Ghana Table Soccer Association (GTSA) successfully organized a “Justify Your Inclusion” event last Saturday at Chorkor Extra ‘O’ in Accra as part of efforts to scout and recruit new talents for the national team.
The open selection exercise attracted participants from various age categories, who turned out in large numbers to showcase their skills and earn a spot on the national team. The event forms part of the Association’s renewed agenda to promote and revive the game of table soccer nationwide.
The Association, which was reconstituted a few months ago, has already outlined a comprehensive roadmap aimed at developing table soccer into a mainstream recreational and competitive sport in Ghana.
Earlier this year, the national table soccer team represented Ghana at an international championship in Zimbabwe, where they put up an impressive performance. The team is now preparing to host Zimbabwe in a return leg fixture scheduled for November this year.
According to the Executives, the upcoming international event will offer another opportunity to assess the newly selected players and further strengthen Ghana’s standing on the continental table soccer stage.
