Asamoah Boateng Declares Bid for NPP National Chairmanship

Former Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a statement issued on Saturday, October 25, Mr. Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Asabee, said his decision stems from his desire to help build a more disciplined, united, and well-structured party that serves the interests of Ghanaians.

“My fellow patriots, the time has come for me to officially declare my intentions to contest the National Chairman position for the NPP,” he stated. “I have always been committed to the good course of the party, and I will ensure that we work together as a family to have a structured NPP for the good people of Ghana.”

He added that his leadership would usher in “a new era of disciplined and structured NPP,” expressing confidence in the party’s grassroots to rally behind his vision.

Mr. Asamoah Boateng, a long-serving member of the NPP, has held several key government and party positions over the years, including Minister for Information, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, and Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, among others.

His declaration sets the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested race for the NPP’s top national executive position.
