Afro-Arab Microfinance Honours Birim Charity Founder Ahead of Customer Service Month

Afro-Arab Microfinance Ltd has honoured Mr. Meekail I. Prah, Founder and President of Birim Charity, with a special citation in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian service and leadership in supporting underprivileged communities across Ghana, ahead of the upcoming Customer Service Month.

Speaking on behalf of the Board Chairman, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, the General Manager of Afro-Arab Microfinance, Mr. Ebenezer Egyir Tetteh, expressed gratitude to the leadership of Birim Charity for their continuous partnership.

“I want to thank and commend you on behalf of our Board Chairman for this laudable initiative. Our relationship with Birim Charity has been very instrumental and key to supporting the needy in the Zongo communities,” Mr. Egyir Tetteh stated.

He further explained that as part of the upcoming Customer Service Month celebrations, Afro-Arab decided to begin its activities with Birim Charity.

As part of the ceremony, Birim Charity was presented with a citation and a customised Afro-Arab Jalabiya to affirm the continuity of their relationship.

The Director of Operations of Birim Charity, Engr. Tawfik Prah, in his remarks, highlighted the organisation’s future plans and hinted that some international donors are expected to visit later this year. He assured that these donors would also be introduced to the Afro-Arab Group to explore possible collaborations.

The highlight of the occasion was the formal presentation of the Citation in Honour of MEEKAIL I. PRAH, which read:

In recognition of an exceptional spirit of humanitarianism, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the upliftment of underprivileged communities across Ghana, the Board and Management of Afro-Arab Microfinance Ltd proudly honours MEEKAIL I. PRAH, Founder and President of Birim Charity.

Driven by compassion and a deep sense of social justice, Mr. Meekail I. Prah established Birim Charity, a non-profit organization that has grown into a beacon of hope and empowerment, especially for the vulnerable in Ghana’s Zongo communities.

Through tireless dedication and strategic partnerships, he has mobilized vital support from donors and organizations beyond the borders of Ghana to address critical socio-economic gaps among widows, widowers, single parents, market women, and needy but brilliant students.

Under his purposeful leadership, Birim Charity has become a lifeline for hundreds of families, offering scholarships, small business capital, and welfare support that have restored dignity, hope, and self-reliance in communities often overlooked.

His initiatives do not just provide relief they create opportunities and empower beneficiaries to build sustainable livelihoods.

Mr. Prah’s philanthropic impact continues to inspire a new generation of community-focused leaders. His ability to blend passion with strategy has made Birim Charity a model of effective grassroots intervention and a strong force for social transformation.

In celebrating this noble trailblazer, we also commend the outstanding contribution of Engr. Tawfik Prah, Director of Projects at Birim Charity, whose technical oversight and commitment to execution excellence have ensured that every intervention reaches those who need it most.

For his distinguished service to humanity and enduring legacy of compassion, the Board and Management of Afro-Arab Microfinance Ltd is honoured to present this citation to MEEKAIL I. PRAH, with deep gratitude and admiration.
