Ghana Air Traffic Engineers Suspend Strike Following Successful Negotiations with GCAA

The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Engineers Association (GhATSEA) has suspended its planned nationwide strike , which was expected to commence today, October 30, 2025.

According to the association, the decision came after an engaging discussion with the governing board and management of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

In a statement signed by its president, David Annan Mensah, GhATSEA explained that productive discussions with the GCAA leadership had yielded positive outcomes, paving the way for a potential long-term solution to their grievances.

“After holding productive talks with the GCAA governing board and management, the association has resolved to suspend the intended strike action that was to take effect from October 30, 2025,” the statement noted.

The association expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the progress made, reaffirming its commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country.

GhATSEA also acknowledged the efforts of the Acting Director-General of the GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and the Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their proactive roles in facilitating the resolution process.

Additionally, the group extended appreciation to the media and the general public for their patience and understanding throughout the period of uncertainty, assuring them of its continuous dedication to ensuring the safe and efficient management of Ghana’s airspace.
