Brys in the Dark: Cameroon Coach Yet to Receive Travel Itinerary for AFCON 2025

A state of confusion hangs over Cameroon’s national football team just days before the AFCON 2025, as coach Marc Brys has revealed he cannot get a straight answer about his own travel plans.

In an interview with news outlet, Brys explained he is stuck in limbo while trying to prepare the team.

The coach said he emailed two officials at Cameroon’s Ministry of Sports to request a plane ticket for a training camp in Morocco. He has not received a clear response.

“They’re both passing the buck,” Brys stated.

He confirmed that no one has officially told him he is fired. However, the lack of basic support has made his position unclear.

“Officially, no one has told me I’m fired, neither verbally nor in writing,” Brys said. “But since I haven’t received my plane tickets… you don’t have to be stupid to believe that.”

Brys also noted that Samuel Eto’o, the president of Cameroon’s football federation, has not been in contact with him either.

This situation points to a deeper problem between the Ministry of Sports, which appointed Brys, and the country’s football federation. The two groups have disagreed over who runs the national team.

With the Africa Cup of Nations tournament beginning soon, the ongoing dispute threatens to disrupt Cameroon’s preparations.

Fans are now left wondering who is leading the team and if Cameroon will be ready to compete.
