Ghana Launches ‘Ghana House’ Initiative Ahead of Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

Ghana has officially launched the “Ghana House” initiative as part of preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The official launch event was held in Accra.

The initiative is aimed at positioning Ghana prominently on the global stage during the Games while showcasing the country’s culture, tourism, and investment opportunities.

During the competition, Ghana House will serve as a central hub for promoting national identity, connecting visitors to Ghanaian heritage, and highlighting business opportunities to the international community.

Speaking to the media, Ghana’s Chef de Mission, Ernest Danso, confirmed that preparations for the Games are already underway.

He noted that athletes, including boxers currently in camp, are actively training with the goal of delivering strong performances at the competition.

According to him, the Ghana House initiative is also intended to project Ghana’s cultural heritage and tourism potential to a global audience.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister Kofi Adams emphasised that Ghana’s performance at the Games would play a crucial role in attracting attention to the initiative.

He stated that outstanding performances by athletes would naturally draw more visitors to Ghana House and further enhance the country’s international image.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place in Glasgow from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
