Ghana’s High Commission in Canada has called on Ghanaians interested in attending the upcoming FIFA World Cup match between Ghana and Panama in Toronto to submit their details for possible ticket assistance.
In a public notice issued by Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada, Prof. Dora Francis Edu-Buandoh, the mission said it had been directed by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to compile the contact details of Ghanaians residing in Canada who wish to attend the match but have been unable to secure tickets.
The Black Stars are scheduled to face Panama on June 17, 2026, in Toronto as part of Ghana’s campaign at the FIFA World Cup.
“I have the honour to inform all our compatriots in Canada that the Ministry of Sports and Recreation of Ghana has directed the High Commission to collect data (email addresses) of Ghanaians in Canada who are interested in attending the football match between Ghana and Panama scheduled to be played on 17th June, 2026, in Toronto, but have no access to tickets,” the notice stated.
Interested persons have been asked to submit their full names and email addresses to the High Commission via email at ottawa@mfa.gov.gh no later than June 10, 2026.
According to the notice, the information gathered will be forwarded to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation to facilitate arrangements for prospective supporters.

“Interested compatriots in Canada should share the following details through ottawa@mfa.gov.gh by 10th June, 2026, for the information and further action by Ghana’s Ministry of Sports and Recreation,” the statement added.
The initiative follows an announcement by President John Dramani Mahama that the government will procure match tickets for Ghanaians living abroad who wish to support the Black Stars during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The President explained that the intervention is intended to enable Ghanaian communities in host cities to attend matches and rally behind the national team throughout the tournament.
However, he clarified that unlike previous World Cups, the government will not fully sponsor large groups of supporters travelling from Ghana due to the significant financial costs involved and the need to maintain fiscal discipline.
The ticket support initiative is expected to help boost Ghanaian representation at World Cup venues while encouraging diaspora communities to actively support the Black Stars on the global stage.
