President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has attributed Ghana’s recent economic improvement to renewed investor confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership.
According to the African business leader, the country’s changing economic fortunes demonstrate the important role that confidence and trust can play in attracting investment and supporting economic recovery.
Speaking at the Accra Reset, hosted by President Mahama on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, September 21, Dangote said the President’s approach had helped reassure investors and improve confidence in Ghana’s economy.
He noted that the economic changes had not resulted from extraordinary measures but from decisions he believes have helped rebuild trust among investors.
Dangote further highlighted what he described as a close relationship between confidence in leadership and the movement of capital.
«“He didn’t do any magic. He’s not a magician, but he did the right things, and people really have a lot of trust in him. And that’s why Ghana’s economy turned around. This has actually shown that money follows trust,” he said.»
His comments come as the government continues efforts to strengthen Ghana’s economic position, attract investment and restore confidence in the country’s financial outlook.
