ANTI-LGBTQ+BILL: Parliament suspends approval of new ministerial nominees

BY: Bttor Stephen

The speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin has suspended the approval of new ministerial nominees from the president of the Republic, following an injunction application filed at the Supreme Court by South Dayi Member of Parliament, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, challenging the constitutionality of not vetting some ministers before assuming office.

The speaker’s directive came from the president’s letter signed by his secretary, restraining the Clerk of Parliament from transmitting the ANTI- LGBTQ+ bill to the president for his assent based on a pending court injunction application against the bill.
