The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) will hold its national Council meeting on Thursday, July 25, to finalize a decision on whether to end the ongoing strike.
The strike, which has lasted over a month, was initiated due to the government’s failure to implement the National Labour Commission’s Arbitral Award Orders, designed to improve teachers’ working conditions.
According to CETAG President, Prince Obeng Himah, recent discussions between CETAG and the government have led to significant progress.
“We have had a series of discussions and made significant progress. A lot of proposals have been put on the table. We’re going to consult with our members. What I can say for now is that we have made a lot of significant progress based on the proposals that have been put on the table,” he stated.
