Black Meteors Off To Cairo For Training Tour Ahead Of U-23 Afcon Tournament in Morocco

A delegation made of Players, Technical staff, and Team Officials has left Accra as the Black Meteors step up preparations for the U23 African Cup of Nations.

The National U23 team will be in Egypt for a pre-tournament training tour before departing to Morocco for the tournament which will be staged from June 24- July 7, 2023.

The Black Meteors have departed Ghana to start their pre-camping tour in Egypt

The first batch arrived in Cairo this evening with the second batch also expected to arrive later.

Kamaldeen Sulemana and Ransford-Yeboah who are part of the Black Stars squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar will join the Black Meteors camp in Cairo after the match on June 18.

The Black Meteors will take on their Egyptian counterparts in a pre-tournament friendly on June 15 and will play another opponent on June 19 before the team leaves Cairo for Morocco.

Vice President Mark Addo has charged the Black Meteors to put in their best efforts and achieve their targets at the African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The National Under 23 team will participate in this year’s edition of the tournament with a target of sealing a ticket to the 2024 Olympics Games.
