DPR city foundation in collaboration with other stakeholders like the National Road Safety Authority, The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), and the National Ambulance Service among others urging drivers to prioritize their health since their fitness is a key to driving and arriving safely.
This hence goes in line with the theme for the 3rd Edition of the Annual Road Safety Father’s Day Education dubbed “Drivers fitness is key to drive safe, arrive safe, and stay alive”
The event saw drivers being taken through a series of education on road safety measures, health screening, and a football Gala.
According to the CEO of DPR city foundation, Obayaa Konadu, the main focus of the program is to educate drivers on the need for which they must prioritize their health. However, the initiative of driver’s health sensitization she noted isn’t just a one-day thing, that said, their biggest challenge and hindrance to this life-saving good course is funding.
Principal Advance Emergency Medical Technician, Mr. Daniel Asare who is the Greater Accra Regional Administrator for the National Ambulance Service highlighted reasons for their involvement in the event. Some drivers having gone through the procedure, applauded the various stakeholders and called for more activities like this.
