Former secretary to the dissolved inter-ministerial committee on illegal mining, Charles Bissue has been arrested on Wednesday, 21st June 2023. This was after he turned himself into the office of the special prosecutor upon publication of his being wanted.
A statement from the office of the prosecutor stated he was arrested at 11:45 and interviewed by officials of the office.
He has then declared wanted by the special prosecutor after he failed to respond to an invitation given to him by the special prosecutor to answer questions regarding ongoing investigations into suspected corruption within the dissolved committee.

Charles Bissue, who already is on trial for alleged corruption-related offenses linked to him by investigative journalist Ana’s Galamsey fraud documentary is secondly being investigated for alleged corruption issues related to some expenses made by committee members of illegal mining.
Mr. Bissue secured a court ruling to quash the arrest warrant of the special prosecutor but the prosecutor in a quick response stated his powers to arrest did not include the use of a warrant, hence the court ruling nil and void.
The office of the special prosecutor has further updated on its page, the wanted man, has now been arrested, interviewed, and bailed.
