NPP flagbearer contest: OB Amoah endorses ‘capable’ Bawumia as candidate

Akuapem South MP, Osei Bonsu Amoah, firmly backs VP Mahamudu Bawumia as NPP’s potential flagbearer. He made this declaration during a meeting in his constituency, attended by Eastern Region party executives.

Amoah stated that Bawumia’s candidacy resonates with the larger NPP populace’s desire. He emphasized the significant support Bawumia enjoys and assured that they won’t let down the people’s expectations.

Describing Bawumia’s attributes, Amoah highlighted his truthfulness, positive nature, emotional intelligence, calm demeanor, listening skills, and devotion to the NPP. He noted that Bawumia’s competence and wisdom set him apart.

Amoah joins a growing number of NPP MPs endorsing Bawumia as the party approaches a special delegates congress in August 2023 to finalize five candidates out of ten for the flagbearer role. These five candidates will then vie in November 2023 internal elections, determining the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.
