Yendi: Barber in police custody for defiling a minor

A 45-year-old barber is currently in police custody under suspicion of defiling a 14-year-old girl.

This action is in violation of section 101 (2) of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29), which is a serious offense with significant legal implications.

The alleged incident occurred on August 7th in Nayilifond, a suburb of Yendi in the Northern region.

The suspect, identified as Razak, is a physically challenged individual who is also known as a Muasin (someone who calls for prayers) and holds a respected position in the community.

Inspector Nicodemus Yorke, the prosecuting officer in the case, informed the court that investigations are still ongoing. He requested additional time to conduct a thorough investigation into the details and circumstances surrounding the alleged offense.

The accused is set to appear in court again on August 15th for further proceedings related to the case.
