Sam George responds to US Ambassador regarding economic threats Over anti-LGBT bill”

Sam Nartey George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, has responded to concerns raised by the US Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia Palmer, regarding Ghana’s anti-LGBTQI bill and its potential impact on American investors.

In a Facebook post, Sam George expressed surprise at Ambassador Palmer’s concerns and questioned whether American investors are only interested in countries without values.

He argued that the basic test for a potential partner should be integrity and values, and he highlighted that Ghana has been intolerant of religious extremism without deterring American investors.

He reassured the US Ambassador that Ghana remains welcoming to American investors and open as a stable and viable democracy. He emphasized that Ghana welcomes investors who respect cultural values and uphold principles of integrity.

Sam George also mentioned that the anti-LGBTQ bill being considered in Ghana is not fundamentally different from similar laws in some American states like Florida and Kentucky. He suggested that the US Supreme Court largely agrees with Ghana’s position on this matter.

In conclusion, Sam George expressed optimism about a mutually beneficial business relationship between Ghana and the United States.
