Ahmed Suale set a lot of people up – Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has criticized the late investigative journalist from Tiger Eye, Ahmed Suale, for being careless in his approach to his work.

Agyapong compared Suale unfavorably to his senior colleague, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, stating that Suale failed to protect his identity, making him vulnerable to attacks from individuals he had exposed.

Agyapong accused Suale of attempting to set up Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta by connecting him with a renowned lawyer, but Agyapong’s exposé on Net 2 TV reportedly alerted the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen, who warned Ofori-Atta before he could be entrapped.

Agyapong maintained that he still stands by his previous statements regarding Ahmed Suale, even though he clarified that his directive to his workers was not to beat Suale outside the premises, but only if he came to his premises.

He alleged that Ahmed Suale was the one who set up the Finance Minister and others with a lawyer, without their knowledge of Anas’ involvement, and that the Minister of State had snubbed the meeting after seeing Agyapong’s video.

Ahmed Suale, who worked with the Tiger Eye investigative team, was tragically shot and killed in January 2019, raising concerns about the safety of journalists in Ghana and the broader challenges they face when exposing corruption and wrongdoing.

NPP Presidential Aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong has clarified his ‘beat him up’ comment aimed at late Investigative Journalist Ahmed Suale.

On 16 January 2019, Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot dead near his family home in Accra.

His family holds the assertion that Ahmed was assassinated because of his work. It has been four years and the Police are yet to find the culprits of the unlawful acts.
