The Anglican Sunday School Association (ASSA) has successfully held its annual study camp after three years of break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since 2019, The Sunday School Association has been unable to hold its yearly study camp in the Diocese of Accra.

The yearly study camp offers various activities and opportunities for children and teenagers between the ages of six and seventeen years old, which includes worship services, Bible studies, team building, exercise, hobbies, outdoor adventure, sports, arts, crafts, leadership training, plus personal grooming, among others activates.
This year camp was held at the University of Ghana Legon on the theme, THE LORD REWARDS, Hebrews chapter six verse ten.
Speaking to Adoa News the Rep on ASSA education committee Bro. Benjamin Acquaye said “We want to test the waters response this year, we are looking at the Lord. Currently, based on the few that we have seen that yes, there’s a hostile response from the councilors we have the coordination, has been good. Currently, based on the few that we have seen, there’s a hostile response from the children and teachers as well, and the coordination has been good.”
“Well, the committee actually has been a bit stressed out on-off due to the activities, we put in a lot of work to be able to design criteria for the camp is actually teaching the children as they will look at living a worthy life. The committee certainly want to find out whether if the children can stay true when no one is seeing what they do, again we are also looking at the Lord Himself and Rewarding in everything we believe that God rewards our actions either we do right or wrong.”
Camp manager, Sister Margaret Annan express her satisfaction despite challenges faced “We had successes in some of the things that we did. So, we are taking into consideration all the challenges. We know the impact that we have in order good sides and we are going to work on our challenges in the future. We have more better house than now. Those that we did right we are going to keep hammering on the side. That’s going to stay with us. So, I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped in any way”.

Both first-time campers and regular camper we excited to be part of this year’s edition and hoping to come again next year.
The ASSA is an association within the Anglican Church that focuses on individuals who are involved in Sunday school ministry, including teachers, leaders, volunteers, and clergy.
Overall, the Anglican Sunday School Association Study Camp offers a platform for learning, networking and spiritual growth, all with the aim of enhancing the quality of Christian education provided to children and young people in the Anglican fraternity.
