The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the commencement of the nomination process for the parliamentary primaries. The process is open to all interested and eligible candidates in the Sunyani East constituency of the Bono Region. The aim is to enable contestants to vie for the party’s ticket to represent the NPP in the upcoming parliamentary elections in 2024.
The parliamentary primary nomination period for the Sunyani East constituency opens tomorrow Wednesday, February 14 and officially ends on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has stated that aspiring parliamentary candidates are required to purchase a non-refundable nomination form for GH₵3,000. After paying the application fee, the aspiring candidate can then obtain the nomination forms in the form of a Banker’s Draft made out to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters in Accra.
His statement added that, to successfully file the nomination, an aspiring parliamentary candidate must also pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH₵ 35,000 and all aspirants except the incumbent Member of Parliament will be expected to pay an amount of GH₵40,000 as party development fees.
