Professor Eric Opoku Mensah becomes acting vice-chancellor of UNIMAC

The University of Media Arts and Communication has announced the appointment of Professor Eric Opoku Mensah as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the institute. This was disclosed in a press release from the institute dated February 15, 2024.

According to the statement, he was meant to take up the position of Vice-Chancellor of the Institute from February 8, 2024, following the retirement of the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo.

Professor Eric Opoku Mensah has worked as a rector of the Institute of Journalism, a component of the UNIMAC merger. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in English language and a Master of Philosophy degree in English language from the University of Cape Coast. He also has a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Capetown South Africa. He is also known to be a scholar of media and rhetoric studies.

Professor Eric Opoku Mensah brings extensive experience and expertise in higher education management to his role, according to the statement released by the University.

The University governing council and the entire UNIMAC community extend their congratulations to Mr.Opoku Mensah on his appointment.
