NPP has failed on the Unity front – Boakye Yiadom

By: Ruth Tang

A Political Science Lecturer, Boakye Yiadom has stated that the individuals named as the manifesto implementation committee members are experienced persons known in the political front for long and as a matter of fact, make up a good and excellent team for putting up policies together to tackle challenges faced by Ghanaians.

He made these comments on the PM Ghana Show on Adoa TV.

According to him, despite the party’s excellent manifesto team, a lack of unity among party members can cause the party down. He emphasized the need for the NPP to unite in the discharge of its course, pointing to the fact that the party is not unified and fingering to the issue associated with the resignation of Alan Kyerematen and Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who was the Majority Leader until yesterday.

“How on earth will you tell your Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader who has been in politics since 1997 as far as I know to come out from abroad yesterday evening and just announce his resignation from being a Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, just like that without any hint” he said.

Again, Yiadom made it known that the absence of Kennedy Agyapong and the presidential candidate for the Movement For Change, Alan Kyerematen including their camp members from the policy implementation committee indicates that there is still no understanding and togetherness even after the primaries, they have not been able to settle their differences.
“Based on unity, the party has failed “ he added.
