His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo is seeking donations from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and private organizations to support the Local Organizing Committee’s (LOC) project.

A meeting was held with GOIL, Ghana Gas, GNPC, ENI Energy, McDan, and Zoomlion among others, to discuss a fund meant to aid the budgeted operational expenses of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 13th African Games. The LOC had budgeted to spend approximately US$48 million (plate_number_1 million) and addressed a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, seeking support.

The amount is estimated to work around a six-day weekly expenditure of GHS 200.6 million, and a daily operational expense of GHS 33.4 million till the 18-day competition. The member of parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa criticized the initiative as reckless, and for targeting already struggling public and private companies.
