Desmond Offei, Head Coach for the black satellites of Ghana has claimed that his main aim for the team is to win a gold medal for the team at the ongoing 2023 African Games.
Ghana’s U-20 team earned their place in the men’s football final after a victory over Senegal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The decisive goal scored by Michael Ephson in the final moments of the game secured Ghana’s berth in contention for the gold medal in the tournament hosted in Accra.
At the end of the Match, Coach Offei praised his players, stressing their determination for success, adding that the foundation has been laid for success and that the players are also well prepared and ready for the tournament while his responsibility as a coach is to train them and get them well prepared for the games.
The coach added that despite facing challenges during the match, the Black Satellites exhibited resilience and capitalized on the crucial opportunity.
“In the first half, chances were few, but we persevered, and eventually, our efforts paid off. My players are clinical; we seized upon our solitary clear opportunity. I can’t recall any instance where we squandered chances,” Desmond Offei concluded.
Ghana is poised to face Uganda in the finals on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
