Gov’t to build 100 smart schools across the country – Prez

As part of Government efforts to expand the digitization agenda, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has unveiled his government’s plan to construct 100 smart schools across the country.

Speaking at the launching of the “Ghana Smart Schools Project” at the Accra International Conference, the President emphasized that these projects will be completed in batches with the first thirty seeing their completion this year and the last seventy happening in the next two years.

He also spoke about the number of school projects expected to be carried out in each of the sixteen regions of the country.

“The government intends to build one hundred smart schools across the country. The first thirty of these will be completed this year and the remaining seventy is expected to be completed in the next two years.

For the avoidance of doubt, it’s planned that the one hundred smart schools will be located in the following cities and towns in all sixteen regions. Eastern Region: Koforidua, Akropong, Kyebi, and Abetifi, Greater-Accra- Accra Region: Achimota, Adjiringanor, Amasaman, and Madina, Volta Region: Ho, Oti Region: Dambai, Ahafo Region: Mim, Bono East Region: Techiman and Nkoranza, North- East Region: Nalerigu, Western- North Region: Enchi, Central Region: Saltpond and Kasoa, Western Region: Takoradi, Tarkwa and Wassa- Akropong, Bono Region: Sunyani- Fiapre, Ashanti Region: Tepa, Juaben, Mampong, and Kumasi- Bantama, Upper East Region: Bolgatanga and Binduri, Upper West Region: Wa, Northern Region: Karaga, Tamale and Yendi and Savannah Region: Damongo “, he explained.
