Jack Mortell, President of Derbywheel Inc. Global, announced on ADOA TV’s Sports Xplosion show, that the company will be implementing the international Derbywheel Module in Africa.
This initiative according to Mortell, is set to revolutionize the sports industry across the continent by introducing a new global Pro Keirin Racing sports event. The Derbywheel Module aims to globalize the historic Professional Keirin Track Cycle Racing, which has been predominantly a domestic enterprise in Japan and Korea.
The vision is to create an open Professional Keirin League with equal accessibility for the entire cycling family, providing benefits to riders, venues, and stakeholders worldwide.
Speaking on ADOA TV Sport Xplosion, Mortell emphasized that this move will not only enhance the track cycling ecosystem but also contribute to the welfare and future of cyclists and the utilization of velodromes around the world. The Derbywheel events are expected to provide significant additional earning potential for riders at all levels and facilitate growth through the creation of Keirin academies in partnership with federations.
The Derbywheel Module is also designed to utilize velodromes across the globe, providing important sources of revenue and content. Moreover, the events will be distributed as sports betting content to legitimate bookmakers worldwide, aiming to replicate the success of the Japanese and Korean Keirin business models.
This announcement marks a significant step towards the development of professional cycling in Africa and the global sports betting market. The Derbywheel Module is set to kick off its inaugural season in 2024.
