Former president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has revealed that he may consider taking on a role at FIFA or the Confederation of African Football (CAF), but has ruled out returning to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the future. Nyantakyi made the comments during a recent interview, where he discussed his plans for the next phase of his career in the football world.
Nyantakyi, who resigned from his position as president of the GFA in 2018 amidst a corruption scandal, expressed interest in potentially taking on a role at the global or continental level of football governance. He indicated that he would be open to opportunities at FIFA or CAF, where he could contribute his experience and expertise to the development of the sport on a larger scale.
However, Nyantakyi was clear that he has no intention of returning to the GFA, where he served as president for over a decade. Despite overseeing significant successes for Ghanaian football during his tenure, Nyantakyi’s reputation was tarnished by allegations of corruption and mismanagement, leading to his resignation and subsequent ban from football-related activities.
Nyantakyi’s comments suggest that he is looking towards a new chapter in his career within the football world, away from the controversies that surrounded his time at the GFA.
