The need for Ghana to boost local production to reduce excessive imports of food products and other commodities has been emphasized by Mr. Morgan Yao Attipoe, a communicator for the National Democratic Congress.

He stated that most of the products that are imported into the country like rice and tomatoes can be locally produced if the local industries are given more attention.

“Ghana is becoming a dumping place for most of the developed countries”, he stated.

According to him, the government must ensure that local industries can produce enough goods for the country before implementing a ban on the import of these products.
