GNPC Launches 11th Edition Of Ghana’s Fastest Human Competition

The official launch of the 11th edition of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Ghana’s Fastest Human Competition took place today at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium.

This competition is being designed for female and male athletes under 15,18, seniors and over 18.

The regional selections will start at Tamale on May 11 and move to Cape Coast on May 22 and finally to Kumasi on June 15.

Addressing the press, the minister of youth and sports, Hon. Mustapha Usif thanked all companies and individuals who have supported the project especially the executive chairman of LOC Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare, general manager of GNPC Dr Kwame BaahNuakoh, Reks Brobby and Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante for their dedication and commitment towards the sport.

He added that the ministry is organizing a program to adopt an athlete initiative, where athletes who win a medal in various sporting disciplines will be given the opportunity for individuals or philanthropists to adopt at least one athlete to support their development until they become professionals.

The competition will be organized at the district level where the best performer moves to the regional level and then to the national level which will be held in Accra at the Legon Sports Complex to make use of the sports facilities.

The General Manager of GNPC added that Ghana’s Fastest Human competition aims to empower the dreams of young Athletes who want to become professional Athletes.
