The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II suggests the government should privatize the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), and the Volta River Authority (VRA).
He made this suggestion during the commissioning of a 430-kilometre natural gas pipeline by Genser Energy, in Kumasi.
He suggested that privatizing these institutions would allow them to function properly.
“The government should implement policies that involve the private sector to attract more investors, leading to increased employment opportunities.
“VRA and others are all government establishments, let’s give it out and diversify them into the private sector and get more money there and get the right people to do it. GRIDCo and others let’s give them the money and get the qualified people, diverse government from it and let them work”
