Last Saturday at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), 30 brilliant but needy Students receive an educational scholarship.
The Relief and Aid International Scholarship Scheme which is founded by Peggy Anna Naa Ayikailey Adamafio, a renown Philanthropist, was officially launched to assist students who are academically gifted but financially disadvantaged.
The launch, which displayed some Ga culture by performances from Tema and Nungua brought together dignitaries and personalities from all walks of life.
Speaking on the theme ‘Bringing Hope and Empowering Tomorrow Leaders’ Mr. Alex B, an astute organizing member of the event pointed out that Adamafio’s aim is to ‘bring back’ her fortune to the community as to instill hope to brilliant but needy students by providing academic support.
Also, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, in his remarks commended the vision of Madam Adamafio.
Prof. in addition, says, Government must be humbled to recognize the works of the likes of Peggy Adamafio to reduce its burdens.
However, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and former Ambassador to Serbia, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe in his view, says that integrity in Ghana Low as to encourage the government to recognize the need to award madam Peggy.
Meanwhile, not only the scholarship scheme Adamafio unveiled but also handed over a well vindicated boreholes to Accra Metropolitan Assembly to benefit the residents of Bukom community, Accra.
