Ghana’s Para Powerlifting Athletes Shine in WPPO World Championship in Georgia

All is going on well for the three para powerlifting athletes at the ongoing WPPO World Championship in Tbilisi Georgia.

Isaac Obeng placed first in the Men’s Up to 59kg category whiles Patricia Nyamekye came third in her category in the Women’s Up to 67kg event, as Ghana targets more qualification slots for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

The Tbilisi 2024 Para-Powerlifting World Championship in Georgia is a World Para Powerlifting Organization sanctioned event which serve as part of qualification event for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games to be held this year in France, from 28th August to 8th September 2024.

This event, a pivotal step in the athletes’ journey towards the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games.

The NPC-Ghana expresses its profound gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the France Embassy in Ghana for supporting the team’s participation in this qualifier.
