Johnnie Hughes descends on Daily Guide for ‘attacking’ him after NPP govt criticism

A broadcast journalist at Media General, Johnnie Beresford Hughes, has criticized the Daily Guide Newspaper for a recent editorial that was targeted him and several other prominent media personalities.

In a recent broadcast, Mr Hughes voiced his disappointment regarding the editorial written by Kwaku Ogboro, which specifically singled out Johnnie Beresford Hughes, Ronald Walker, Berla Mundi, and Naa Ashorkor from various sectors.

Hughes expressed astonishment upon discovering the piece on page 4 of the Daily Guide, noting that he had previously maintained cordial relationships with those involved in overseeing its production.

This unexpected targeting, he emphasized, has left him questioning their motivations.

He also raised concerns about the nature of the criticism, pondering why posing thoughtful questions seems to provoke animosity rather than constructive dialogue from those individuals.

” Yesterday I saw on page 4 of the Daily Guide a very interesting thing on the editorial page of the Daily Guide. I saw a startling attack on me, Ronald Walker, Berla Mundi and Naa Ashorkor written by Kwaku Ogboro and I was asking myself that all those who supervised the production of this I have sat close to them in meetings and they know I smell better than them.

And there’s one called Offei Newton, who used to work at the Jubliee House who no longer has a job who also wrote that, who I know comes to beg for food to eat from a relative of mine. So I was asking myself that why will people not respond to the intelligent questions myself, Ronald Walker, Berla Mundi and Naa Ashorkor but decide to attack. If Alhaji my boss will supervise the production and publication of this means that he is complicit, he is no longer a victim he is a conspirator,” he added.
