Running mate to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has stated that the NPP is targeting 85 percent of votes in the Ashanti Region in this year’s elections.

He announced that the NPP will conduct a door-to-door campaign ahead of the general election.

Addressing supporters of the NPP in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9, after his unveiling, Dr. Prempeh declared, “We want 85 percent in the Ashanti region.”

He urged party supporters and Ghanaians in general to “honour President Akufo-Addo and Bawumia by voting massively to win the 2024 elections.”

For his part, NPP Flagbearer and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia praised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, describing him as a problem solver, knowledgeable, and a generational thinker.

He emphasised his absolute respect for Dr. Opoku Prempeh.
